The Community YMCA’s mission is to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. We promise that no one will be turned anyone because of an inability to pay. We are deeply grateful for the support received from our many friends, individuals, families, corporations, foundations and many other community and civic-minded organizations that allow us to continue this important work.

The Community YMCA raises funds throughout the year in a number of ways:

Strong Kids (annual support campaign formerly known as Reach Out To Youth)

This yearly campaign is the funding backbone for the YCares Financial Assistance Program – the source for underwriting Y fees for programs and services for qualifying individuals and families. The campaign structure involves hundreds of volunteers who are recruited from the community to share their Y stories and experiences with friends, family and colleagues in order to garner support. The campaign is an annual effort that generates significant funding to provide financial assistance to thousands of children, teens and families in need of our services.

Honor & Remember Fund

The fund offers a unique way to recognize the achievement of a family member or friend, express sincere condolences, honor someone loved, or celebrate a notable milestone while supporting the positive work of The Community YMCA. Contributions to the Honor & Remember Fund are recognized and acknowledged to both the family and donor.

Chairman’s Roundtable

This group of special friends contributes on an annual basis a minimum of $1,000 to the Strong Kids Campaign. Recognition includes a special listing in our Annual Report and an invitation to the Chairman’s Roundtable reception to meet and socialize with other Chairman’s Roundtable members.

Gifts to Endowment

The mission of The Community YMCA Foundation, Inc. is to provide fiscal security and stability for the programs and facilities of the organization. They do this through gifts to the Endowment Fund which help finance future endeavors, so the Y can continue to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.

Heritage Club

Those making contributions to the Endowment Fund at the $5,000 level and above become members of the Heritage Club.
