| Volunteers | Volunteers play an important role at The Community YMCA. They make up our Board, solicit donations, help run our programs and special events and just about everything else in between. It is this special group of people that separates the YMCA from other organizations. Volunteering at your local YMCA is a great way to get out, meet new people and help do something positive that benefits the community. Many people feel a tremendous sense of pride and gratification in knowing that they helped to make a difference. One important thing to remember if you are considering volunteering is that the only special skills needed are caring and a willingness to do what you can to help your community. Volunteers must complete an application, provide written references and go through a screening process.
