Counseling & Social Services

The New York World’s Fair in June of 1939 featured a YMCA Day where a group of boys from The Community YMCA’s Hi-Y Club took part in the festivities.

The Community YMCA's Counseling & Social Services was established in 1974 to provide affordable, confidential services, which strengthen family life and individual growth.

The Community YMCA Counseling and Social Services program provides outpatient and in-home counseling for mental health and substance abuse, foster family support, mentoring, and child visitation programs for approximately 1,600 children, adults, families and groups in our area. Programs are designed to meet the ever-changing need of our community and provide services that strengthen family life and individual growth.

Services are provided through two distinct offices: our outpatient mental health and substance abuse office and our community based outreach office. All of our clinicians are Master's level, or Board Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors. Our clinical staff works closely with our psychiatrists to deliver optimum mental health evaluations and treatment to those we serve.
